lyrics
The Music Doctor
Hey people let me tell you about the one the call the Music Doctor
When you need a friend you know the doctor is in,
She's just waiting for you to talk to her
You can call her when you’re dancing on a Saturday night
or early Sunday morning when you’re sliding on by
She’ll always let you tell her what’s on your mind
anything that’s on your mind
When i was a boy about 5 years old, i met the music doctor
My dear grandma got me my first guitar
And she took to meet my instructor
Climbing up the stairs, I heard a music so sweet
from the kind old hands of sister Margaruite
She started me off on G, C and D, told me
“Practice this and come back next week”
And that’s just what I did
I did what she told me to do
On that very day
my whole life was changed
The Sister she taught me to play
The Doctor showed me the way
She charted my course with just a couple of chords
Plugged me into the source of the magical force
called music yeah yeah yeah
But when I was ten ,I just couldn’t fit in
I was weird, i was shy, really awkward
And you know how it is
with the popular kids,
If you ain’t cool they ain’t gonna talk to ya
But with my guitar in hand,
I found that I had a friend
In the one they call the Music Doctor
And ever since then I knew that I could depend
On the sound that I found in my heart
When things got rough and it was just too much,
The music kept me from falling apart
Now I don’t know where I would be
If the doctor hadn’t been there to care for me
There’s a healing power you can feel in a song
And I’m singing this just to pass it on
Hear the music now
Yeah Yeah, ooh
You got to listen to the music now
There’s a spirit in the music now
Hey, there’s power in the music now
There’s love, there’s healing in the music now
Now I have said all that I can say,
So I’m a shut up, I’m gonna let the band play
Take it away
Oooh Every time I play, I just wanna say
Thank you to everyone that helped me on the way.
To the sister and Peggy, my guitar teacher Toby
Big thanks to Frank, Michael White, Eyvind Kang
Paul Moore, Greg Peters, Jim Knapp and Julian Priester
Reggie, Karen and Wayne, Eryn Young and Scott Seiver
All the players and teachers who helped me connect
Who helped me get down with the music
Oh I’m thankful for the Doctor.
Healed by the Doctor
You’ve got to call her, yeah!
